I am considering making a few adaption to make the debug circuit the same as the picture. My debug adapters are not working anymore.

Series resistors not only suppress silabs usb debug adapter flow in ESD situation but prevents shorting things up and burning circuits when wrongly connected. I included a schematic of the connection between the debugger and the efm8. Is there a possibilty to reset the debugger? I have copied their circuit and no problems so far.
